OUR APPROACH
Healing through a decolonial lens
A decolonial approach to mental health welcomes your full identity into the healing process. Your culture, religion, migration story, family lineage, and lived experience offer meaningful context for your care and deepen the path toward wellness.
At Resilient Roots, we integrate evidence-based therapy with cultural wisdom, body awareness, and community-centered healing so your care feels steady, respectful, and connected to the life you are building.
Somatic Work
Body-based practices support nervous system regulation, help process stored stress, and create greater safety, grounding, and connection within yourself.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is adapted with care for your values and lived experiences, helping you understand thought patterns, build new perspectives, and move toward choices that feel aligned.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
DBT offers practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy relationships while honoring the role of identity, ancestry, and community in your healing.
Trauma-Informed Care
Every session is grounded in safety, choice, and collaboration, with clear attention to racism, colonization, migration, systemic oppression, and intergenerational trauma.
THE ROOTED RESILIENCE FRAMEWORK

Reconnecting to Self and Community
Spiritual beliefs, ancestral practices, and community connection are welcomed as meaningful and powerful sources of healing.

Land & Labor Recognition
We acknowledge that much of our work takes place on the territory and ancestral lands of indigenous peoples. We also acknowledge our debt to enslaved Africans, whose labor and suffering built and grew the economy and infrastructure of a nation that refuses to recognize our humanity. We invite you to take a moment to reflect on whose land you are living and working on. If you are unsure, we welcome you to research and reflect. Learn more about the native lands you reside on (US):
