Gabrielle's Approach

I want you to know that you don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. This is a space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and talk openly without judgment. I’m a warm, down to earth therapist who believes you know yourself best, and my role is to walk alongside you, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and support you in creating the change you desire.

We’ll work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, while making sure you feel supported along the way. Day to day, I draw most on cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and person centered approaches, along with narrative and strengths based methods. Gabrielle provides a warm, supportive space for clients navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. Her culturally responsive approach honors each client’s identity, culture, and lived experiences while working collaboratively toward healing and meaningful change.

She creates a warm, playful, person-centered space where clients feel safe to be vulnerable, explore their experiences, and create meaningful change. Her culturally responsive approach recognizes that identity, culture, and lived experience shape the therapeutic process, allowing her to meet each client where they are with curiosity and compassion.

As a proud two-time alumna of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a first-generation member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Gabrielle understands the importance of identity, community, and having a sense of home. She believes that when life feels chaotic or overwhelming, reconnecting with what grounds us—whether through culture, music, food, or reflection—can be an important part of healing.

Creativity, especially music, has been a lifelong passion for Gabrielle. With over 25 years of musical experience, beginning with piano at age four, she incorporates creativity and music into her therapeutic work when it resonates with her clients. She believes the things we love can become powerful pathways for expression, connection, and healing.

Specializations

Racial Identity & Trauma

Maybe you’ve spent years being the strong one, taking care of everyone else, or learning when to make yourself smaller just to move through certain spaces. Maybe you’ve experienced being overlooked, misunderstood, or expected to carry more than feels fair. Gabrielle creates space to talk about those experiences openly—without having to soften them or explain why they matter. She helps clients explore racial identity, process the impact of racism and cultural expectations, and begin making room for themselves beyond the strength they’ve always had to show.

Military Family Support

Gabrielle specializes in supporting military families navigating the unique emotional challenges of military life, including deployments, reintegration, frequent moves, changes in family roles, relationship stress, and the uncertainty that can come with service. Drawing from lived experience as well as her clinical training, she understands that military life impacts the entire family—not just the service member. Gabrielle provides a culturally responsive, nonjudgmental space where individuals, couples, and families can process these experiences, strengthen connection, and develop healthy ways to navigate the demands of military life.

Grief & Loss

Grief can change the way you move through the world. You may be grieving someone you love, a relationship that ended, a version of yourself you had to leave behind, or a future you thought your life would hold. Gabrielle understands that grief doesn’t always look the way people expect—and that sometimes you can feel okay one moment and overwhelmed the next. She offers a compassionate space where you don’t have to minimize your loss. Together, you can make sense of what you’re carrying, honor what has been lost, and find a way to move forward without leaving yourself behind.

Faith and Spirituality

Your relationship with faith can change throughout your life. You may find yourself questioning what you were taught, feeling disconnected from a community or tradition, or simply wanting to understand what spirituality means to you now. Gabrielle offers space to explore those questions without judgment or pressure to arrive at a particular answer. Together, you can reconnect with the parts of your faith that bring you peace, meaning, connection, and hope while giving yourself permission to discover what spirituality looks like in this season of your life.

Life Transitions

Sometimes life changes before you feel ready for it. Whether you’re entering a new chapter, questioning what comes next, adjusting to a major change, or realizing that the life you’ve built no longer feels like the right fit, Gabrielle can help you slow down and make sense of it. She creates space to better understand what you want, what may be holding you back, and what meaningful change could look like for you—without pressure to have everything figured out.

Parenting Support

Parenting can be deeply meaningful and deeply exhausting—and sometimes both at the same time. Gabrielle supports parents who may be feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, guilty, disconnected, or unsure of themselves as they navigate the realities of raising a family. Her approach is practical and down-to-earth, offering a space where you can be honest about the hard parts without feeling like you have to be a perfect parent. Together, you can work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected in your role as a parent.

Chronic Illness & Health-Related Stress

Living with ongoing health concerns can affect far more than your physical health. It can change your routines, relationships, plans for the future, and the way you see yourself. Gabrielle offers a steady, compassionate space for clients who are navigating the emotional weight of chronic illness, medical uncertainty, or other health-related stress. You don’t have to stay positive all the time or pretend that it’s easy. Therapy can give you room to process what you’re experiencing, adjust to what has changed, and find ways to care for yourself through

Career & Academic Stress

When school or work begins to take over your thoughts, your confidence, or your ability to enjoy the rest of your life, it can be difficult to know how to step back. Gabrielle works with clients who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, burned out, or uncertain about what comes next. Therapy can be a place to untangle the pressure, understand what you need, and reconnect with a sense of direction—so that success doesn’t have to come at the expense of your well-being.
